Question 1

Is Freelog really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Freelog is 100% free forever. No account, no credit card, no trial period, no hidden fees, no paid tier. We built it as a free tool because freelancers should not need a subscription to track their own billable hours.

Question 2

Does Freelog work offline?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Freelog is an offline-first progressive web app. Once the page loads, it works with no internet connection. Install it to your desktop or home screen and it runs like a native app — your data never leaves your device.

Question 3

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

All your time entries are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Nothing is uploaded to a server. No accounts, no sync, no tracking. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, you can export a JSON backup and re-import it.

Question 4

Can I export a billing-ready PDF invoice?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Freelog generates clean PDF exports of your monthly timesheet with start time, end time, total hours, and daily/monthly summaries — ready to attach to invoices for clients and accountants.

Question 5

What is "discrepancy detection"?

Accepted Answer

Freelog automatically flags days where your logged hours do not match your target. If you plan 8 hours per day and log only 6, Freelog shows the 2-hour gap and tells you how much extra time you need per remaining day to hit your monthly target.

Question 6

Do I need an account or email address?

Accepted Answer

No. Freelog has no signup, no login, no email collection. Open the page and start tracking. This is intentional — we do not want your data and we do not want to run authentication infrastructure for a free tool.

Question 7

Is Freelog open source?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Freelog is open source on GitHub. You can read the code, file issues, submit pull requests, or self-host your own copy. Built and maintained by DBF Nexus, a software agency in Beirut, Lebanon.
